Original gameplay

Who says all the ideas have been done?
The wondrous talent behind Tower of Goo and The Swarm have announced that they are making a new game. Its called World of Goo, and from the screenshots looks like the original experimental game carried through to a fully designed game.
See early screenshots here. If you don't know why this is exciting, play Tower of Goo until you understand.
And if that's not enough experimental gameplay for you, there's always the unending joy of being a cacodemon grilling kittens in hell. To prepare them for the BBQ, you have to spin the fur off them then punt them into the furnace on the left. The sadistic bonuses for style give it a final sparkle. Beat my 72,000 points worth of roasted kitten if you have the heart.
Or if you want something more relaxing and zen, try drawing physics shapes to get the ball to the stars.
Finally, there's the brilliant concept of performing on a trapeze. With a single mouse click/hold control system it manages to be elegant, intuitive to pick up and hard to master. Again, bonus points for style and wince-inducing bone-crunching noises give it that blinding shine of polish.
