Holding the fort

February 6, 2007

A few days ago I hung a large quilt cover up to finish drying in my living room, and accidentily turned the sofa into a child's fort.

Now I don't want to take it down. It's too much fun to watch telly from underneath!

A fort...? That sounds more like a spaceship me.

It's only a two-seater sofa. Not large enough for a space ship. It's an escape pod at best.

Big enough for a couple of droids to escape with secret plans? If your carpet's dirty enough, you could pretend it's Tatooine. Next door's cat could be a Jawa.

Given the current weather, it makes a perfect secret Rebel base on Hoth.

With this weather, your little tent-within-a-house plan might be a good way to stay warm!

Was this just after my 2-year-old left? That's downright rude!! Fort building is now a prerequisite for all future visits.

Make some fake castle battlements and yell "Your mamma was a hamster, and your father smelled [pause] of elderberries!!" over the top. ;)
